Housing & Direct Rent Supplement Applicants

HOW TO APPLY

Taber & District Housing Foundation provides individuals, families and senior citizens with caring and affordable accommodations.

The application process varies slightly depending on the type of accommodations required. Please see below for the necessary steps for each kind of facility.

 

Seniors Supportive Living

Clearview Lodge is a 77 unit facility in Taber dedicated to Supportive Living for seniors.

To Apply for Clearview Lodge:

  • Download the Application & Medical Form for Clearview Lodge, or pick up a copy at:
    • Clearview Lodge: 4730 50th Avenue, Taber AB
    • Taber & District Housing Foundation: 5318 48th Avenue, Taber AB
  • Read entire application.
  • Complete all areas in the application, except for signatures.
  • Gather all required documentation.
  • Phone to make an appointment with our Lodge Manager (403-223-2822, extension 1).
  • Bring your application to the appointment.
  • You will be contacted if you are approved and then again when there is a vacancy for you.

 

Senior Self-Contained Housing

Taber & District Housing Foundation has 107 units in Taber, Vauxhall, Barnwell, and Grassy Lake which provide Senior Self-Contained Housing.

To Apply for Senior Self-Contained Housing:

  • Download the Application for Senior Self-Contained Housing, or pick up a copy at:
    • Taber & District Housing Foundation: 5318 48th Avenue, Taber AB
  • Read entire application.
  • Complete all areas in the application, except for signatures.
  • Gather all required documentation.
  • Phone to make an appointment with our Placement Officer (403-223-2767, extension 4)
  • Bring your application to the appointment. Initial Appointment is approximately 20 minutes.
  • You will be contacted if you are approved and then again when there is a vacancy for you.

 

Community Housing

Taber & District Housing Foundation has 37 Units in Taber, Barnwell, and Vauxhall which provide subsidized housing for Families.

To Apply for Community Housing:

  • Download the Application for Community Housing, or pick up a copy at:
    • Taber & District Housing Foundation: 5318 48th Avenue, Taber AB
  • Read entire application.
  • Complete all areas in the application, except for signatures.
  • Gather all required documentation.
  • Phone to make an appointment with our Placement Officer (403-223-2767, extension 4).
  • Bring your application to the appointment. Initial Appointment is approximately 20 minutes.
  • You will be contacted if you are approved and then again when there is a vacancy for you.

 

Direct Rent Supplement Program

  • The Alberta Government has a program available for renters to apply for rental assistance to help offset the rental cost. This assistance is based on your income vs rent costs
  • To apply for the Direct Rent Supplement Program, Download the Application for Community Housing, or pick up a copy at Taber & District Housing Foundation Admin Office at 5318 48th Avenue, Taber AB.
  • The application is the same as the community housing application, but there are a few more requirements as listed on the second page of the application under ‘Direct Rent Supplement Program’.
  • Read entire application.
  • Complete all areas in the application, except for signatures.
  • Gather all required documentation.
  • Phone to make an appointment with our Placement Officer (403-223-2767, extension 4).
  • Bring your application to the appointment. Initial Appointment is approximately 20 minutes.
  • You will be contacted if you are approved and then again when there are available funds to place you on the program.
